chiwia . & | [| { 8 | anees / TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: A-2069, A-2083 and A-2071 Applications: 2003 – 2005 Ford F-Super Duty Condition: Vehicles fitted with a single alternator and multiple accessories may exhibit low battery conditions when the accessories are being operated. Accessories include but are not limited to: – plows – salt spreaders – warning lights (cherries) – or other items added by the customer Cause: The alternator from the factory was designed to operate correctly in the vehicle, however, the addition of accessories may cause the draw to exceed the capacity of the alternator. Correction: Replacing the lower amperage alternators, Dixie part numbers A-2069 or A-2083 which are rated for 110 amps with an A-2071 which is rated for 140 amps may correct this problem. Warning this may not meet all the electrical demands for the vehicle.
