chiwia . & | [| { 8 | anees / TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: A-2082 (plus unlisted at this time) Applications: 2007 — 2008 Ford Explorer 4.0L 2007 — 2008 Mercury Mountaineer 4.0L 2009 Ford Mustang 4.0L Condition: The operator of the vehicle may complain of the drive belt squealing or chirping in the vicinity of the power steering pulley. Cause: A potential cause is an incorrect alternator bracket. Correction: Inspect all components driven by the accessory belt for wear or damage. Inspect the belt clearance on the idler pulley, there should be 2mm of clearance at the rear of the pulley, if not the alternator bracket may be incorrect or incorrectly (improperly seated or improperly torqued). Verify that the alternator and idler pulley are properly installed and torqued as defined in the manufacturer’s specifications. If the belt clearance is still incorrect replace the bracket with an updated one (dealer number 1L5Z- 10A313-BA). Replace the drive belt with an updated one (dealer number 5R3Z-8620-AA).
