chiwia . & | [| { 8 | oxen / TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: A-249 S-2055 Applications: 1993 — 1994 Ford Ranger 3.0L Engine Condition: The operator of the vehicle may complain of hard starting, no starting and/or a low/dead battery. Cause: A possible cause for the above condition is a feedback circuit being created when the heater fan switch is left in the “on” position that keeps the voltage regulator on the alternator engergized, even with the vehicle ignition switch turned off. Correction: The vehicle manufacturer has released a service kit, part number F47- 14A411-A to correct the problem. The kit contains a jumper harness and installation instruction. The kit is wired into the fuse box and prevents that alternator from being energized when the ignition is in the “off” position.
