Cause: A potential cause for the above condition is a severely corroded lead at the starter solenoid connection. Correction: The manufacturer recommends replacing the wiring harness with a new version part number F4VY-14A411-A, which alleviates this condition. Do not sand or file the starter terminal as this creates grooves which will trap moisture. Brush dielectric grease, such as D7AZ-19A331-A, or the equivalent, on the terminals when installing the starter.
