Cause: There are several none serviceable situations that may cause the above condition as listed below: – Inserting the key and rotating it to crank very quickly may not provide enough time for the authorization data from the key transponder to be processed by the immobilization system. – The systems will time-out if the key is inserted band left for 30-40 seconds before turning the key to the crank position. Typically this will show the message /mmobilzer — See Manual in the driver information display. – Other transponders are in close proximity to the one specific for the vehicle. For example gas station payment transponders or keys to other vehicles. Correction: Before performing detailed diagnostics rule out the above possibilities following the manufacturer’s recommended procedures.
