They may also observe shift flare when the automatic transmission shifts from 2″ to 3 gear (the RPM’s increase momentarily after shifting). The technician may find the code P1260 stored in the power train control module (PCM). Cause: A potential cause for the above conditions is a flaw in the PCM programming. Correction: Follow the manufacturer’s recommended procedures to update the PCM programming to release 69.04 or higher when applicable.
