LEXIE } TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: S-6172 S-6210 S-6262 S-6263 S-6558 S-6561 TBA Applications: 2005 — 2009 Audi A4 2005 — 2009 Audi A6 Condition: The operator of the vehicle may complain that when the engine is hot it cranks for an extended period before starting. When checking the vehicle the technician may find no diagnostic trouble codes stored in the system. Cause: A potential cause for the above condition is fuel injectors that may be stuck open allowing fuel to seep into the combustion chambers and flood the engine. Correction: Follow the manufacturer’s diagnostic and repair procedures which include performing the following diagnostic steps: 1) Start the engine and let it run at 3000RPM for 5 minutes. 2) Measure the pressure at the fuel rail, which should be at about 35 bar (500 PSI). 3) Wait 10 minutes and measure the pressure again, if it drops to 25 bar (360PSI) or less then the plugs will have to be removed to check which injector is leaking fuel into the cylinder.
