‘dixie verse gy TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: S-6263 S-6558 Applications: 2005 Audi A6 all vehicles 2006 Audi A6 vehicles with VIN numbers 000001 – 037400 Condition: The operator of the vehicle may of one or more of the following conditions: – the engine will not start – the ignition cannot be turned on – the ignition key cannot be removed Cause: The cause for the above condition has been traced to the Access/Start Control Unit being damaged internally from the transient voltage created by the starter motor. Correction: Follow the manufacturer’s recommended diagnostic and repair procedures which include ensuring that the Access/Start Control Unit wire connections are in good condition, and that the voltage supply and ground are not compromised. They also recommend removing the black/red lead from position 19 of the 20 pin connector on the Access/Start Control Unit and taping it back into the harness. If damaged, the Access/Start Control Unit will require replacement.
