LEXIE } TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: A-80198 A-80200 A-80201 S-1424 $-1515 TBA Applications: 2006 — 2010 Buick Lucerne 2006-— 2010 Cadillac DTS Condition: The operator of the vehicle may complain of one or more of the following conditions: – Intermittent dead batteries – Intermittent hard starting – Alternator failure – Battery failure The technician may observe excessive quiescent draw (parasitic drain) on the F12 body control module logic fuse (2006-2007 models), body control module fuse 19 (2008 models) or body control module fuse 32 (2009-2010 models). Cause: A potential cause for the above conditions is a short circuit to ground in circuit 1732 or an inoperative glove box light switch. Correction: Follow the manufacturers’ recommended procedures for inspecting the interior lighting circuit (1732). There should be no reading (infinite resistance) between circuit 1732 and the car body. When testing it is recommended to wiggle the wiring around as there may be an intermittent short. If a short is detected areas to carefully inspect are under the passenger floor sill plate near the front seat or near the sunshades above the headliner. Inspect the glove box light switch and door, temperature changes or glove box contents may intermittently prevent the switch from properly functioning. Installing a tube or adjusting the riser pad may correct this condition.
