‘“scliwia | # | [| { & | verse gy TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: TBA Applications: 2010 — 2011 Nissan Sentra 2.0L (MR20 model) Conditions: The operator of the vehicle may complain of hard starting conditions and/or other malfunctions. The technician may find no issues at all or may find the engine control module has been damaged. Cause: A potential cause for the above conditions is a manufacturing flaw on the battery positive stud. The stud is zinc plated and the coating is thicker then specified resulting in a high voltage drop. NOTE: When testing the vehicle for voltage drop, this will not appear as the measurements normally taken are from battery post to battery post. Correction: Before repairing the vehicle question the owner if they have had the battery terminal and cover replaced or serviced by the dealer network. Follow the manufacturer’s recommended repair and replacement procedures when applicable. Also refer to TSB-8067 as there are additional battery terminal issues.
