Additionally there may be fluctuating gauges on the dash, the service engine soon light may come on or various other electrical problems. Cause: A potential cause for the above is a short circuit in the high speed local area network wiring. Correction: Follow the manufacturer’s diagnostic and repair procedures which include inspecting the wiring directly below the engine control module for chaffing on the inner fender panel. Repair and reroute wiring to prevent further damage when applicable.
