—_— HEXIB ) TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: S-80352 Applications: 2006 — 2007 Ford Fusion 2.3L 2006 — 2007 Mercury Milan 2.3L Condition: The operator of the vehicle may complain of an intermittent no start condition. The operator may also comment that when the no start condition is observed the factory installed anti-theft system light continues to flash. The technician may note multiple system codes stored in the memory. Cause: A possible cause for the above condition is… shopping cart interference. Shopping carts are being fitted with anti-theft devices, which have been found to interfere with the anti-theft system in the vehicle. The shopping cart system works with a buried cable around the parking lot that triggers the wheel to lock once it is passed. Correction: The vehicle manufacturer has released updated calibration files for the powertrain control module to address this issue. The IDS release 45.5 and higher has this issue eliminated.
