Moving the shift lever in and out of the “Park” position may temporarily alleviate the problem. Cause: A potential cause for the above condition is the neutral position switch assembly. Correction: The manufacturer recommends replacing the neutral position switch assembly with a revised one. The part number for the revised neutral position switch is 84540-42010 for the above applications. Follow the manufacturer’s recommended procedures when performing the repairs.
