chiwia asezucas / TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: S-80068 Applications: 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0L Condition: The operator of the vehicle may complain that the engine cranks but fails to start. Cause: A potential cause for the above is a faulty crankshaft position sensor. Correction: The vehicle was subject to a recall (ID number 04V112000) to change the crankshaft position sensor to correct the problem. The crankshaft position sensor wiring initially used by the manufacture was prone to cracking, which exposes the wiring and renders the sensor inoperative.
