Cause: A potential cause for the above condition is excessive run out in the crankshaft balancer. Correction: Follow the manufacturer’s recommended diagnostic and repair procedures when applicable, which include measuring the run out on the crankshaft balancer belt grooves and not on the face. Measurements on the face would result in erroneous high readings. The acceptable limit is for the crankshaft balancer run out is 0.4mm. If the belt was squealing or noisy do not reuse it.
