Jim Thomas wanted to give away 5 free rooms to new member attendees of the Grand Rapids show. Mike Schroeder felt the giveaway should include all rebuilder members, which was agreed upon. b.) Dan Smith made a motion to allow $500 to go to 5 rooms for ERA rebuilder member attendees to be drawn from a hat. Alan Melton seconded the motion. The vote passed unanimously. c.) Dan Smith will call Bob Thomas and Polly Shea to deal with the details of this show promotion. 4, Is Technology Passing Our Industry By?: a.) Jim Thomas noted that it is becoming commonplace for installers to use OE units rather than rebuilts to solve problems. This is a bad reflection on our industry. Alternator testing capabilities are not what they need to be industry-wide . Rebuilders need to be able to test a unit as it works in its application. This is an industry-wide problem with rebuilders, suppliers and manufacturers all sharing in the responsibility for the problem and its solution. b.) Mike Schroeder would like to see the ERA website add two forms: “Tricks, Tips and Tidbits” and ‘Electronic Links to Companies Who Sell Items of Interest and Need to the Rebuilding Industry”. The Next Board Meeting will be Feb. 20, 2008. Meeting Adjourned at 8:15 PM CST Respectfully submitted, Joe Bradish Secretary
