Minutes: ERA Board of Directors Wednesday January 19″, 2011 Start Time 6:30 pm CST Attendees: Bill Ernst, Alan Reynolds, Joe Bradish, Ronnie Charnes, Mike Dietrich, Wes Grueninger, Mike Schroeder, Tom Barrett, Ken Plourde, Dean Conner, Henry Henke, Chris Thompson, Larry Hagemeister, Daren Roggentien. 1: Treasurers Report: Chris Thompson reported a balance of $25,219.36 with all bills paid in full. A discussion was had on transferring money from the ERA checking account into a certificate of deposit. Chris noted that even though interest rates are low on short term cd’s, checking accounts paid 0 interest. A question was asked on penalty in case the cd had to be withdrawn early? Chris informed attendees that the only penalty would be what the cd had earned since renewal. A motion was made by Chris Thompson to transfer $14,000.00 from the ERA checking account into a certificate of deposit. Second by Dean Conner. _All ayes Motion passed Mike Schroeder will check into this and report back to the ERA Board at the February meeting. 2: Membership Committee Report: a. Tom Barrett reported a current membership of 422 members. b. Tom told attendees that he has been working on calling members that have not renewed their membership. He explained that this can be time consuming when conversing with rebuilders on reasons why they should renew. Tom invited anyone that is able to attend the next membership committee meeting to please do so and come up with ideas on hiring someone to make these phone calls. The membership committee can then come up with some ideas and numbers to present to the ERA Board. 3: Technical/Training Committee Report: a. Mike Schroeder reported that the Tech Line has had normal usage. b. Mike informed attendees that the line item in the ERA budget that was listed as advertising has been changed to Training Committee. The amount for this line item has been increased to $2,500.00 pending budget approval. c. Wes Grueninger reported that he has scanned and converted to pdf’s wiring diagrams for the 1959 model year. Wes has also finished a training video with Joe Bradish on testing alternators that use a com terminal. Wes is also working several other videos including a video on armature shaft straightening and armature shaft replacement. Wes reminded everyone that he is working on a video on solenoid rebuilding and that he is still in need of solenoid cores and that he wants OEM cores only.
