“dixie verse gy TECH TIPS Dixie Part Numbers: A-1645 A-1705 A-6548 Applications: 2010 Chevrolet Express — G Series Van 2010 GMC Savana — G Series Van Conditions: The technician may complain that the alternator is not charging or is not operating correctly after reprogramming the engine control module (ECM). Cause: A potential cause for the above condition is that when reprogramming the ECM the number of terminals required must be entered. If not entered the alternator will not receive any signal to begin charging. Correction: Inspect the alternator and identify if it has the 2 pin connection or the 4 pin connection as shown below: (FB) > ae! , PLeFEs (ST) (FB) 4 Pin Connection 2 Pin Connection Note: The number of physical connections is not important. Some vehicles with the 4 pin plug only use a single wire. If the plug on the alternator appears like the 4 pin connector, even with only 1 wire to the plug the ECM must still be programmed as the 4 pin connector in order for the alternator to function correctly.
