The technician may observe when testing for battery draw that there is approximately 100 through 170 milliamps of current drain in the quiescent mode (sleep mode). Disconnecting the under hood bussed electrical connection fuse 2 eliminates the draw. Cause: A potential cause for the above condition is the body control module is powered by the fuse identified above and may not be accurately reflected in the vehicle wiring schematics. When the body control module is powered it sends a signal out to the door lock circuit and the dome lamp circuit. Both of these circuits are know to cause the body control module to stay in the wake mode when there are short circuits to ground. Correction: Follow the manufacturer’s recommended procedures for scanning the body control module data. If the data shows “unlock” or “lock” (as opposed to the proper data of “idle”), trace circuit #682 (a white wire) from the body control module X1 pin 7 looking for grounds, also inspect the door lockout switch. If no problems are found then trace circuit 149 (dark blue/white wire) from the body control module X3 pin A3 to the dome light looking for short circuits to ground.
